The Best Drink To Supercharge Your Morning

The Best Drink To supercharge Your Morning

Hello beautiful,

We are going to talk about one of the best drinks to supercharge your morning. It’s so insanely easy, and the benefits to your brain, skin, and stress levels in the morning are incredible (and rooted in science).

We’ll also discuss how this one simple drink can crush cravings too.

Ready for the simplicity? Let’s go!

Now, you’re talking to a former coffee addict, the one thing I will NOT tell you to do is give up your beloved coffee (I hear your relief!), but I will share with you why it’s important to have this hydration elixir BEFORE your fav cuppa.

Back in the day, when I used to be the person who said “I can’t talk to anyone before I’ve had my Coffee”, I used to literally need 2-3 cups of strong coffee to even feel like I could function, then I’d spend the morning feeling all jittery, stressed, my muscles felt achey and my cravings for sugar would be through the roof.

Not to mention my skin looked flat and dull, I could never seem to achieve that plumped, healthy glowy look that I desperately wanted, and I spent a pretty penny on high-end skin care to achieve that look and never fully achieved it.

It wasn’t until I started training properly and got a coach, and he got me started on warm filtered water, a pinch of mineral salt, and a squeeze of lemon.

“The Hydration Elixer,” he called it! And he was spot on, the transformation I experienced with my brain, my skin and my appetite was radical.

I was thinking clearly, my skin looked and felt all plump and glowy and I wasn’t experiencing the irritability and jitters anymore.

That was 20 plus years ago, and I think I could count on one hand the mornings I haven’t had the Hydration Elixier since!

Giving Your Body What It Needs Most

During the night, our amazing bodies achomplish so much, detoxfying cells, organs, blood and lymph. Nothing “goes to sleep” when we’re sleeping, infact alot of our bodily functions really complete hard work while we’re asleep and it’s thirsty work.

After all the cellular regeneration and detoxification, the number one thing our bodies are looking for first thing in the morning is HYDRATION & REPLENISHMENT.

Water & Electrolytes.

We are made of water. Roughly 73% of our bodies are made of water. There is no cellular function in the body that can operate without the presence of water & electrolytes.

Brain & Heart

Muscle Tissue

Skin

Organs

Bones

Electrolytes (such as sodium, potassium, and magnesium) help with hydration by regulating fluid balance, acting as “magnets” that pull water into cells and tissues to optimize absorption. (This is one of the reasons our skin cells look so flat when we’re dehydrated!)

They are essential for replenishing nutrients lost through sweat and sleep, enabling proper fluid retention in the kidneys, and maintaining the electric charges required for nerve function and muscle contraction.

Ingredients for Maximum Hydration

  • Lemon Juice

That’s it.

A couple of important things to mention before we move on to the ‘How To’, is understanding how dehydration affects cravings and brain function.

Why Dehydration Increases Cravings

When your body is dehydrated, it can’t function properly — and one of the first things it does is send signals for quick energy.

The problem is…
those signals are often mistaken for hunger.

In reality, your body isn’t asking for food — it’s asking for hydration and minerals.

When you’re low on fluids:

  • Your energy drops
  • Blood sugar becomes less stable
  • Your body looks for a quick fix

This is why you may find yourself craving:

  • Sugar
  • Caffeine
  • Salty or processed foods (there’s  big difference between table salt and the salt used in processed food versus the salt we are talking about putting in our water).

It’s your body trying to restore balance quickly.

Dehydration also places stress on the body, increasing cortisol (your stress hormone), which can further drive cravings and fat storage.

The Difference Between Mineral-Rich Salt and Regular Table Salt

Not all salt is created equal.

While they may look similar, the way they are produced — and what they contain — is very different.

What is Regular Table Salt?

Table salt is highly processed.

It is typically:

  • Mined from underground deposits
  • Heated, refined, and stripped of its natural minerals
  • Composed of 97–99% pure sodium chloride

During processing, manufacturers often add:

  • Anti-caking agents (to prevent clumping)
  • Sometimes iodine (a synthetic addition)

The result is a very refined, single-mineral product.

What is Mineral Salt (e.g. Baja Gold)?

Mineral-rich salts like Baja Gold Sea Salt are:

  • Naturally harvested from seawater
  • Sun-dried (not heavily processed)
  • Left in their whole, unrefined state

Because of this, they retain a wide spectrum of nutrients, including:

  • Magnesium
  • Potassium
  • Calcium
  • Trace minerals like zinc and iron

Some mineral salts contain 70–90+ trace elements in natural balance

They also tend to contain less sodium chloride (around 75–80%), with the rest made up of beneficial minerals

How Dehydration Affects Brain Function

Stressed woman

Our brain is made up of around 75% water, so even mild dehydration can have a noticeable impact on how you think, feel, and function.

When your body is low on water, your brain doesn’t operate as efficiently. This was such a big thing for me with brain fog and just not fully feeling switched on.

1. Reduced Focus and Mental Clarity

Dehydration decreases blood flow and oxygen to the brain.

This can lead to:

  • Brain fog
  • Difficulty concentrating
  • Slower thinking

You may feel like you’re “not quite with it” — even if you’ve slept well.

2. Increased Fatigue

When hydration levels drop, energy production in the brain becomes less efficient.

Resulting in:

  • Mental tiredness
  • Lack of motivation
  • That mid-morning or afternoon slump

3. Mood Changes and Irritability

Dehydration can affect neurotransmitters in the brain.

This can lead to:

  • Feeling more anxious or on edge
  • Low mood
  • Irritability

Sometimes what feels like stress… is simply a lack of hydration.

4. Increased Stress Response

When the body is dehydrated, it perceives this as a form of stress.

This increases cortisol, your stress hormone.

Higher cortisol can:

  • Affect mood
  • Increase cravings
  • Make you feel overwhelmed

5. Headaches and Mental Tension

One of the most common signs of dehydration is headaches.

This happens because:

  • The brain temporarily contracts due to fluid loss
  • This triggers pain receptors

Why This Matters

When your brain isn’t supported, everything feels harder:

  • Making good choices
  • Staying focused
  • Regulating emotions
  • Feeling calm and in control

Hydration is one of the simplest ways to support clarity, calmness, and cognitive function.

Finally, we can put an end to increased stress and irritability in the mornings. Honestly, the transformation in my brain was incredible. I hope you experience the same.

How To Make Your Hydration Elixir!

This is my morning routine, you can do the same:

  1. Wake up and feel gratitude for being alive, the beautiful bed I’m in, and the man of my dreams lying next to me!
  2. Have a wee
  3. Pour filtered water into the kettle
  4. Cut a lemon in half and squeeze the juice into my mug (it’s a large mug, about 600ml)
  5. Add one large pinch of Baja Gold Mineral Salt into the mug
  6. Pour the water halfway and top the rest up with cool water from the filter. (I’ve had this countertop filter for about 3 years and it’s bloody brilliant, just change the filters every 3 months, job done).

I’ll then take this mug of hydration up to my meditation room, light a candle, and sip slowly. I’ll absorb the beautiful images on my manifestation dream board for a few minutes and then begin my practice.

As I’m writing this, I’ve just had an idea for a blog post about morning meditation for manifesting. Would you be interested?

Over the years, I’ve manifested so many beautiful things, experiences and people into my life.

My most magical one is the man I married!

Samantha Saint

A 6-bedroom dream house, money, a 6-figure business…. All through the power of energetic alignment and identity.

Aaaanyway, I digress. Hydration!

Imagine if you could improve your morning and how you feel in your body by implementing this one easy drink into your routine?

Coffee

I forgot to mention, I do have coffee, but I only have it AFTER I’ve finished my water. The coffee I have is organic and of the purest quality.

Store-bought coffee is often washed with so many chemicals and sprayed with preservatives, then we end up drinking all that crap, and it makes us feel like shit! Jitters, brain fog and hormonal chaos. So, please, enjoy your coffee, just make sure it’s of good quality.

I love Exhale coffee, I’ve tried so many, and it’s definitely my favourite.

Over the years, as I’ve cultivated more love for my body, where I invest my money has changed so much. I love designer bags and shoes, but it’s just not as important to me as my health, body and personal development. I’d rather invest £5k into a mntouship program than a Gucci bag!

I invest in myself, my health, and my personal growth, emotionally and spiritually.

This is another blog post idea! Maybe I’ll write that one tomorrow, “8 Must-Have Health Investments for Women Over 40”.

Let me know how you feel if you start the ‘Hydration Elixir’!

Less cravings?

Bouncier skin?

Feeling calmer in the mornings?

Less body aches?

I’d love to hear from you,
